After nine years in business, growing from a 40 to 280-acre vineyard in Willcox and opening a second tasting room in Scottsdale, Arizona, family-owned Carlson Creek Vineyard is expanding yet again with the build out of a new winery at their Willcox vineyard property.

A groundbreaking took place on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 11 a.m. In attendance were the Carlson family, the Willcox Mayor Mike Laws and his wife Revonda, the project’s general contractor Will Brown from Blue Clear Sky Contracting, as well employees of the vineyard, wine club members, neighboring wineries and members of the Willcox Chamber of Commerce.

Plans for the 12,000-square foot winery include a welcoming tasting room for visitors, a private meeting room, a wine library, exposition kitchen, an indoor event area for wedding receptions (complemented by outdoor spaces on the vineyard) and office space for their growing staff. This is in addition to being a working winery, which will include a state of the art crush pad, climate-controlled barrel storage, and fermentation and production areas for all future vintages. The new space is expected to be completed by June 2018.

“The winery has been a long time in the making, and we are thrilled to be able to unveil it in our company’s 10th year in business,” said co-owner and winemaker Robert Carlson III. “Being able to produce all of our wines, from planting to bottle, on-site is going to make a huge difference in our capabilities and overall production. Having space for our own events and private parties will also be a great way for guests to experience not only our family’s story, but that of the Arizona wine industry, right in the heart of Willcox Wine Country.”

Already one of the largest vineyards in the state, Carlson Creek Vineyard will now also have one of the largest on-site wineries in Arizona; growing their business exponentially in addition to being a gateway to the vineyard for guests and wine club members alike.
