Colliers International in Greater Phoenix recently assisted the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in securing a long-term office lease in the 80,814-square foot Estrella Health Center in Phoenix.
The Phoenix VA leased the 4th floor of the building, located at 9250 W. Thomas Road, from Legend Real Estate Management with corporate offices in Los Angeles.
Colliers International Associate Vice President Matt Fitz-Gerald and Legend Real Estate Management Manager Elena K. Safaei served as consultants for the property owner in the transaction.
Built in 2009, Estrella Health Center will house the Southwest community-based Outpatient Clinic.
“The 20,000-square foot clinic, when fully operational, will provide primary care, mental health and ancillary services such as phlebotomy, nutrition, pharmacy and social work to over 8,200 Veterans who live in West Phoenix and the Southwest Valley,” according to Jean Schaefer, VA spokesperson in Phoenix.
The VA chose this site because of its proximity to Banner Estrella Medical Center, which has a campus on the south side of W. Thomas Road. Both properties are east of the Agua Fria Freeway (Loop 101) and west of N. 91st Avenue.
Veterans will receive primary care though this new VA-staffed facility, which replaces a contract VA clinic in Buckeye that closed in 2013.
“This lease was a win-win for Veterans in West Phoenix,” said Safaei, adding, “We particularly want to thank Mrs. Ashley Velasquez [in the contract department of Veteran Affairs in Phoenix] for her dedication and commitment.”
