LGE Design Build will open the first structure at its much anticipated, $25 million Overstreet project in downtown Chandler – a five-floor, 350-stall parking garage – at a ribbon cutting on Thursday, Sept. 6, at 5 p.m. Atop the structure at Oregon and Buffalo streets, LGE Design Build and the City of Chandler will celebrate an easier way for visitors to park in the downtown Chandler area. The public is invited to attend.

The Overstreet parking garage will serve the thousands of daily shoppers, diners and moviegoers who will make Overstreet the essential Chandler entertainment hub. As Overstreet completes construction, the garage will be rented to the City of Chandler to help eliminate surface street parking in the bustling, ever-expanding downtown Chandler area. Parking at the Overstreet garage is free 24 hours a day.

“As we bring exciting new businesses like Flix Brewhouse to Overstreet and the downtown Chandler neighborhood, we expect to draw a crowd,” said Wayne Bell, president of LGE Design Build. “We saw it as our responsibility to build a garage that would cater to Overstreet customers while also helping eliminate surface street congestion.”

The ribbon cutting will also celebrate the opening of Chandler’s free downtown shuttle, the “Wave.” The five-passenger electric cabs will allow riders to wave down a ride anywhere along the route in Chandler’s historic square.
