Magnum Companies, a Phoenix-based designer, fabricator, and installer of metal components, won four Gold Awards at the 2018 Ernest Wiemann Top Job Competition for outstanding craftsmanship sponsored by the National Ornamental & Miscellaneous Metals Association (NOMMA).

The awards were presented recently at NOMMA’s 60th-anniversary dinner in Phoenix. Magnum’s Gold Awards:

• Exterior Railings and Fences (non-forged): Grand Canal, Tempe, Arizona; Artist/Architect – Mary Lucking; Owner – Salt River Project; General Contractor – JE Dunn;

• Structural Fabrication: Shadow Play, Phoenix, Arizona; Artist/Architect – Meejin Yoon at Howler + Yoon; Commissioned by – City of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture;

• Unusual Ornamentation Fabrication: Alliance Bank, Gilbert, Arizona;  Architect – DAVIS; General Contractor – Sun State Builders;

•  Art/Sculpture: Moebius/Cloud, Culver City, California; Artist/Architect – Merge Conceptual Design; Commissioned by – Greystar in conjunction with the Culver City Art in Public Places program.

“Winning a Top Job award has special meaning to us,” said Magnum Companies CEO Greg Brockman. “It represents a voice of approval from our industry peers. We are honored and humbled by the number of awards we brought home.”

The competition is named after NOMMA past president Ernest Wiemann and had more than 100 entries from throughout the U.S. and five foreign countries. NOMMA is the trade association of the ornamental and miscellaneous metalworking industry.
