An old shopping center site is getting new life in Casa Grande, as a new auto park from Mullin360 is poised to bring more jobs and tax revenues to the community. It’s yet another example of the major improvements and expansions happening in south central Arizona’s most populous city.

By a unanimous vote, the Casa Grande City Council has approved a Planned Area Development (PAD) permitting a new auto park on Florence Blvd and Interstate 10. The new auto park will replace an abandoned Sam’s Club which sits on more than 17 acres. The PAD also includes more than nine adjacent acres of undeveloped land. Arizona-based Mullin360, the company that built the Scottsdale Auto Show as well as auto parks all over the Valley and country, is developing the project. The project includes new buildings and updated landscaping to transform the abandoned retail center into a vibrant destination for car buyers.

The auto mall will occupy about 27 acres, including the four acres which was zoned for retail use under the PAD.

The PAD represents the smart repurposing of an existing and abandoned 17 acre 136,000 square foot Sam’s Club. It also represents new industry and new growth that has been coming to Casa Grande.

Numerous auto dealers have already lined up to locate their dealerships on the site which can accommodate 9 brands. This is the first auto park to be developed in Arizona since the COVID pandemic.

Indeed, in a post pandemic economy, this new auto park will bring more sales tax and property tax revenues to the City of Casa Grande as well as more good paying jobs to the community. It is also an excellent example of adaptive reuse for commercial development.

Mullin360 is Arizona’s premiere auto park developer with six auto parks either completed or in development. That experience pays off. Dealerships operating in Mullin360 properties typically yield 24% more in sales.

Company Executive Vice-President Cecil Yates said, “We are proud to bring this project to Casa Grande and help get the community’s economy into high gear as we all work to recover in a post-pandemic economy. This auto park will draw car enthusiasts from all over the state as well as Casa Grande.”

The PAD was approved during a February meeting of the Casa Grande City Council. Casa Grande Mayor Pro Tem Robert Huddleston had previously voiced that he is very excited about the project and noted it is in the prime corner of the community and a great gateway project.

Mullin360 began as a family-owned firm started by father-son team, Art and Jim Mullin. Over the past 30 years, Mullin360 has been involved as an owner/principal, investor, partner and other key development roles in the real estate development industry.
