The mobile food ordering company Grubhub, Inc. will occupy the largest block of new tech space available along the Loop 101 corridor in Chandler for its new corporate offices.

The 29,526-square-foot spec suite is located within ViaWest’s San Tan Tech Center, located at 145 S. 79th St. in Chandler. Once Grubhub commences their lease this month, the property will be 93 percent leased.

Ryan Bartos and Kyle Westfall with JLL represented the tenant in the expansion to their fourth corporate office location. The company also holds offices in Chicago, New York and London.

“Our team had a ton of fun designing and building this cool-creative office space and we’re excited to see it being utilized by such a fitting tech-centric tenant,” said Danny Swancey, a partner at ViaWest.

Mark Gustin, Dave Seeger and Karsten Peterson, also with JLL, represented the landlord in the deal. “This was the largest block of new tech space available along the Loop 101 corridor. We are proud to add this innovative company to the dynamic roster of tenants at the project,” said Gustin.

“We are thrilled that Grubhub selected Chandler,” said Mayor Jay Tibshraeny. “Tech industry leaders continue to recognize that Chandler offers the right business environment to support their growth. Adding Grubhub to our thriving cluster of internationally recognized tech companies strengthens Chandler’s status as the Innovation and Technology Hub of the Southwest.”

The ±129,187-square-foot, multi-tenant property was acquired by ViaWest Group in 2013, when it was 49 percent leased. San Tan Tech Center is leased to a roster of tenants including Arvato Digital Services, HealthTell and Amkor. Its proximity and access to the Loop 202 freeway has made San Tan Tech Center a highly sought after location for technology-related companies.

Founded in 2004, Grubhub provides an online platform for restaurant pickups and deliveries to customers’ homes. The company is based in Chicago, IL, and currently has over 1,500 employees.
