What keeps professionals in coworking spaces is increasingly everything around the desk they book rather than the desk itself. Methodology: CoworkingCafe drew on listing data from their directory of more than 8,200 U.S. coworking spaces to find out which cities deliver the richest amenity experiences across four categories that reflect how people want to work in 2026: pet-friendly perks, sport and relaxation, childcare support and EV charging.

Here are the types of amenities that dominate Phoenix’s coworking market:

  • No. 5 in the nation for sport and relaxation. Nearly 80% of Phoenix’s coworking spaces — 51 of 64 — offer fitness centers, lounges, rooftop patios or wellness rooms, a Top 5 finish at real scale.
  • Arizona owns the wellness category. Phoenix (No. 5) joins Tucson (No. 3) and Scottsdale (No. 9) to put three Arizona cities in the national Top 9 for sport and relaxation.
  • A Top 15 EV finish. 4.7% of Phoenix spaces (3 of 64) offer EV charging (No. 15), ahead of most Southwest peers.
  • Pets are an afterthought for now. Just 1.6% of Phoenix spaces (1 of 64) welcome them, which is well below the 10% national pet-friendly rate.
  • Childcare support is thin. 3.1% of Phoenix spaces (2 of 64) offer childcare-related amenities, including mother’s rooms, nursing facilities or on-site childcare support. — under the 9% national average.

Nationwide, roughly one in four coworking spaces (25.4%) now offers standout amenities beyond Wi-Fi and coffee. The Northeast leads regionally at 27%, narrowly ahead of the West, while the South dominates by sheer volume. Category leaders include San Francisco (pet-friendly), Cambridge (sport and relaxation), Minneapolis (childcare) and Irvine (EV charging).
