Dale and Bendy Sobol, real estate sales executives with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Arizona Properties, have completed the most expensive home sale in Sedona in the past 10 years. The team sold 140 Hidden Meadow Drive in Sedona’s exclusive Seven Canyons neighborhood for $5 million.
Designed by architect Robert Morris and built by Phil Morris, this more than 9,000 square foot custom adobe-style home and adjacent casita back up to the Coconino National Forest. The property included stunning panoramic views of the forest and beautiful mesas for which Sedona is internationally known.
“The home featured a mixture of Mexican Ranch, Old Spain and Native American influences in its interior design and finishes,” said Bendy Sobol. “The décor was complemented by 11 fireplaces throughout the property and outdoor amenities including fire pits, water features, a barbecue area, infinity-edge pool and spa that all provided unrestricted views of the natural surroundings.”
“This estate was almost surrounded by thousands of acres of natural forest and mountain mesas,” said Sobol. “With the comfort and amenities of the double-gated Seven Canyons community at their doorstep, it truly had the best of both worlds.”
An elegant rustic style was shown throughout the residence, with custom hardwood floors and Centurian beams brought in from the Midwest with hints of hand-peeled Latilla seen throughout.
“The adobe influences are also seen throughout, and it took close to a dozen men to carry the wood that makes up the kitchen’s main island,” said Sobol. “Sophisticated touches that add to its functionality included a wine room, a spacious and separate casita and a chef’s kitchen that features Sub Zero and Dacor appliances.
The prestigious community of Seven Canyons provided the home with many luxury amenities, including a Tom Weiskopf designed golf course. His par-70 course harkens back to some of the country’s great early1900s designs and adds an interesting old-world charm set against the dramatic red rocks.
“This residence is simply stunning,” said Gordon Miles, president and COO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Arizona Properties. “The layout and materials, the views and the luxury touches all come together to form a warm and inviting experience, even though it is more than 9,000 square feet. Nothing had been sacrificed to create this magnificent estate, from its incredible ceiling height in the living room to a large but family-style kitchen. There is a warmth and presence in this home that I haven’t seen in a long time in a residence of this size. You felt instantly comfortable.”
The Sobol team also currently represents the sellers of a property directly adjacent to the property at 130 Hidden Meadow Drive, which is being offered for $7.5 million.
