Phoenix-based home builder MAK Homes announced Heard Farm, a new intimate 24-home community in the heart of historic South Mountain, will offer modern farmhouse designed homes with a focus on sustainable living. The new build homes will be available for viewing on March 1.

The location in South Mountain, was chosen based on a vision by MAK Homes to create a neighborhood that speaks to history, context and health in order to give a meaningful backdrop to all of its homeowners. The vision of Heard Farm was to intently echo the agricultural history of this property by recreating citrus orchards and the use of flood irrigation established by the site’s historical predecessors. surrounding family farms are currently open to the public with fresh produce and other goods. South Mountain Regional Park is 1 mile away with over 100 miles of recreational trails in the mountain preserve.  The SRP canal system is a short walk or bike ride out of the gate of Heard Farm, to the West.

Heard Farm offers five custom models with unique qualities that showcase their modern farmhouse vision. The Dylan is a full two-story home that features a bridge over the living room to the loft. The home includes options like a view deck, indoor/outdoor bar, RV garage with 20-foot ceilings and more. The Joplin model is most aligned to the traditional farmhouse by offering a uniquely intimate space that divides naturally into two wings. Buyers will have access to three garage bays, formal front porch, a gen suite option and more. The Tyler is a single-story home with 18-foot-high ceilings. Built with a large, central front porch and clearstory windows for abundant light, the Tyler can accommodate up to seven bedroom and four bathrooms.
