2021 is already shaping up to be a strong year for commercial real estate in Downtown Phoenix as RED Development today announced it has signed Snell & Wilmer, the largest law firm in Arizona, as a new office tenant at CityScape Phoenix, bringing the mixed-use center to 98% leased.

As the largest office lease signed in Downtown Phoenix during the pandemic, Snell & Wilmer will be relocating its headquarters from the Arizona Center to occupy a total of 115,000-square-feet, spanning five floors at CityScape. The tenant was represented by Chuck Nixon, executive vice president of CBRE.

“We are very excited about our partnership with RED Development and our upcoming move to CityScape,” said Matthew P. Feeney, chair of Snell & Wilmer. “As we planned for the firm’s future, we were looking for a vibrant location that would be attractive to our clients, support our collaborative culture, and offer the technological edge that clients and lawyers require. We are confident that CityScape addresses all of our needs.”

With more than 450 attorneys in 15 locations across the western United States and Mexico, Snell & Wilmer is the largest full-service business law firm in the West. Focused on minimizing risk and maximizing success, the firm is organized in more than five dozen practice areas as it serves clients in a range of industries including major national and multinational corporations, educational and research institutions, municipalities and government agencies, nonprofits, charitable organizations, industry executives and high-net-worth individuals.

Continuing RED Development’s aggressive growth path, Snell & Wilmer marks the ninth new tenant announced at CityScape in the last year, joining a slew of restaurants expected to open in 2021 including 810 Billiards & Bowling, The Yard Milkshake Bar, Pigtails, Dog Haus Biergarten, Everbowl, One Stop Nutrition, Downtown Phoenix Bike Shop and The Phoenix Bourbon Room, a State 48 concept.

“Bringing the largest law firm in Arizona to CityScape Phoenix, and with it nearly completing the leasing of the building, is an accomplishment we’re proud to reach,” said Mike Ebert, managing partner at RED Development. “Snell & Wilmer has a longstanding history in the Valley and we look forward to continuing to build our relationship as they make CityScape their new home.”
