Valley Partnership prides itself as the premier advocacy group for responsible development in Arizona, which is largely possible due to the proactivity and engagement of its members on development issues.

Each year members share knowledge and experiences with a new class of aspiring professionals within various areas of the commercial real estate industry through the Valley Partnership Advocates Program.

The program runs from September through June 2017, which is designed to provide unprecedented exposure and understanding of the entire process for building a large scale, master-planned community.

Each of the 25 advocates are under 35 years of age and will have first-hand access to learning how a master-planned community comes to fruition from the best professionals in the industry that are responsible for them.

The curriculum will include what a developer considers in identifying viable land, assemblage and acquisition, working with government entities on zoning entitlements, financing, buyer research, land planning, architecture, interior space planning and design, home building, branding and project marketing, and how it all fits together in our new economy.

An event kicked things off last week at the Phoenix Country Club with a roundtable discussion about economic development, issues, successes and partnerships with the mayors of Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa and Goodyear.

In October, advocates will have the opportunity to gain a bird’s eye view of Valley with helicopter tours by SRP. The intention is to show advocates the scope and scale of the Valley, where our water comes from as well as hotspots for current and future development.

This year’s program will be led by Valley Partnership Board of Director, Tim Brislin of Harvard Investments and will include direct involvement by all of the Board of Directors.
