Sundt Construction, Inc. recently started construction on the University of Arizona Student Success District in Tucson.

“This project marks our 58th project on the University of Arizona campus,” said Dave Ollanik, Project Director for Sundt. “We look forward to again working with the University of Arizona on this project and helping to build a unique and groundbreaking resource for current and future students.”

The project will transform the Main Library, the Science-Engineering Library, and Bear Down Gym, while adding a new four-story student success building into an interconnected district, which will provide indoor and outdoor spaces. The new district will encourage students to move seamlessly between spaces that provide a full range of services and expertise, allowing them to reach their academic and career goals.

The project is being delivered via design-build delivery method with Sundt’s design partners of Miller Hull and Poster Frost Mirto. The multi-facility project is expected to be fully completed and open to students by 2021.

The Sundt opened its Tucson office in 1929. In the decades since, it has built notable UA landmarks including McKale Center, Centennial Hall and the Arizona Stadium skyboxes. Sundt most recently completed the remodel of Old Main on the campus. The award-winning project renovated the campus’s oldest building and completed the project in 2014. The company has three offices in Arizona, in Tucson, Tempe and Phoenix.
