Five years ago, Arizona’s largest orthopedic practice, The CORE Institute, opened its first clinic in Mesa on the campus of Banner Desert Medical Center. Given the successes of that endeavor it is now time to grow again, recently opening the doors to its new Mesa facility located at 1500 S. Dobson Road, Suite 202, Mesa, Arizona 85202.

The CORE Institute first began caring for East Valley residents in 2009, opening a location in Gilbert. Another large clinic was opened in Mesa in 2013, and most recently in November, in Scottsdale.

“Two things are driving the need for a new location: a growing population in the East Valley and a growing aging population in need of orthopedic services,” said Dr. Jason Scalise, Vice Chairman and Orthopedic Surgeon at The CORE Institute. “On the heels of opening our first Scottsdale facility last month, we are committed to meeting the increasing demand for our services and providing residents access to the highest level of integrated orthopedic care.”

The new clinic is equipped with 2,000 additional square feet and six additional exam rooms. The new Mesa orthopedic clinic will cover all orthopedic specialties including sports medicine, spine surgery, hand and upper extremity, bone health, foot and ankle care, pain management, adult joint reconstruction, musculoskeletal oncology, interventional spine, and shoulder. Physicians caring for patients in their new Mesa facility include Michael Amini, MD; Amalia De Comas, MD; Shane Hess, DO; Brandon Hirsch, MD; Kelly Krohn, MD; Michael Talerico, MD; John Wallace-Talifarro, MD; Nicholas Wischmeier, MD; K. Adam Lundberg, DO; Jeffrey Holmes, DPM; Frank Raia, MD; Tyler Collins, MD; and Ejovi Ughwanogho, MD.

The CORE Institute currently has 19 orthopedic facilities across the Valley including Gilbert, Mesa, Scottsdale, Phoenix, Peoria, Sun City, Sun City West, and Surprise. To schedule an appointment online with The CORE Institute providers, visit www.thecoreinstitute.com.
