Online shopping has been a force of change in the retail world, which has stirred many places to start redesigning and redeveloping to bring in more customers.

There’s been news about many retailers closing around the Valley and the nation, but Phoenix has been seeing healthy leasing activity recently.

Still, national retailers are closing doors, and it could start affecting the Phoenix area. National Real Estate Investor recently reported on 17 retailers closing stores in 2017.

Many of the listed retailers have locations in Arizona, and it’s yet to be determined if any of these retailers will close doors specifically in Phoenix.

The stores that made the National Real Estate Investor list include:

  • J. Crew
  • Guess?
  • Gymboree
  • Claire’s
  • BCBG Maz Azaria
  • American Eagle
  • Aéropostale
  • Abercrombie & Fitch
