In response to the Yarnell Hill Fire tragedy that claimed the lives of 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots, The Shout! House at Westgate is hosting a fundraiser at 7 p.m. July 19. The Shout! For Hotshots event will benefit the 100 Club of Arizona’s Survivors Fund, which assists with travel expenses for the fallen firefighters families, replacement safety equipment for the fire departments, needs for injured firefighters and their families, peer support/counseling, scholarships, and any other immediate or future needs.

“We want Shout! for Hotshots to be a fun and uplifting celebration of the lives of these heroes. As a former Yarnell Firefighter, I know that’s how these men would want it,” said Mike Wombolt, General Manger for The Shout! House. “It’s a way for everyone to come together and support a cause close to their hearts, while honoring these fallen firefighters.”

Throughout the evening, The Shout! House has created many opportunities for raising funds for the charity. From 7 to 9 p.m., the venue’s usual $5 cover charge will be donated to the 100 Club of Arizona. Area fire departments will be loaning boots so The Shout! House can hold a “fill the boot” drive to collect additional donations. Plus, the performers will hold a donation-request- driven piano duel. The Shout! House will also be donating a percentage of sales from the evening to the Survivors Fund.

The Shout! House is a non-stop, audience request driven show where singers face one another at dueling pianos, playing classic rock ‘n’ roll hits to today’s popular music. Typically a 21-and-over venue, The Shout! House is making an exception for the evening so the entire community can support the fundraiser. From 7 to 9 p.m., those under the age of 21 will be admitted to The Shout! House, and the cover charge will be waived for kids under the age of 18.

The venue will honor the fallen firefighters by displaying a special memorial banner, and the staff will be wearing commemorative t-shirts. To keep the party going all night long, there will $1 Fireball Cinnamon Whisky shots from 7 to 9 p.m. and half off bottles of wine and liquor and buckets of beer from open to close. The bar is also collecting gift certificates and items from various businesses to raffle off to raise additional funds for the 100 Club of Arizona.

“So that we can raise as much money as possible for the 100 Club of Arizona Survivors Fund, we are continuing to collect items from area businesses that we can include in the raffle. If anyone would like to get involved, we’d welcome the donation of gift certificates, gift baskets, autographed sports memorabilia or any other items that can be included,” said Wombolt.

The Shout! House is located in the Westgate Entertainment District.
