Phoenix Rescue Mission
Hope for Hunger Food Bank
5605 N. 55th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301
In honor of Hunger Action Month, Phoenix Rescue Mission’s Hope for Hunger Food Bank is putting out the call for help with donations and volunteers. Hope for Hunger is volunteer-driven and relies on help from the community to serve those in need. As SNAP benefit enrollment continues to fall, PRM is asking for donations of nonperishables to help fill the grocery gap thousands in the Phoenix area are experiencing. Additionally, PRM has launched its monthly mobile pantry service in Phoenix, Surprise, Scottsdale, and Laveen.
United Food Bank
358 E. Javelina Ave. Mesa, AZ 85210
As a Feeding America partner food bank, United Food Bank is encouraging Arizonans to turn awareness into action this Hunger Action Month. Serving families across the East Valley and surrounding communities, the organization distributes nearly 300,000 pounds of food each week and relies on volunteers and community support to help meet the growing need for food assistance. To mark Hunger Action Month, United Food Bank will host Family Action Day on Sept. 26 from 8 to 11 a.m. This family-friendly volunteer event gives participants of all ages the chance to assemble emergency food bags, learn about the realities of food insecurity in Arizona, and make a meaningful difference for local families facing hunger.
Grimaldi’s Pizzeria
Scottsdale, Chandler, Gilbert and Peoria
This September, Grimaldi’s will celebrate its 14th year partnering with nonprofit Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry to raise funds to help end childhood hunger in America. For every $5 donated while dining at Grimaldi’s, up to $25 per visit, guests will receive a matching amount in bounce-back cards to use on a future visit. All proceeds will benefit No Kid Hungry. Last year, the pizza brand raised $71,000 to help combat childhood hunger and hopes to meet or exceed that total this year. Since 2013, Grimaldi’s annual campaigns have raised more than $1.4 million for No Kid Hungry.
Phillips Law Foundation
3101 North Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85012
Phillips Law Foundation is proud to partner with nonprofit Cloud Covered Streets on its Feeding Arizona initiative, supporting individuals experiencing homelessness across the Phoenix community.
