Anago Cleaning Systems is expanding into Arizona after signing the state’s first Master Franchisee, Brad Kemp. The corporate cleaning company signs Master Franchisees, who then maintain exclusive rights to sell Unit Franchises, cleaning contracts and assigning franchisees.

Kemp’s franchise will cover Maricopa and Pinal counties, with rights to sell unit franchises within the area. With its size and growth rate, the Phoenix metropolitan area offers more than enough businesses to clean, says Vice President of Marketing Judy Walker.

As a Master Franchisee, Kemp will sell Unit Franchises, which will operate as small cleaning businesses under Kemp’s larger umbrella. The Unit Franchisees are able to run their franchises as they chose, hiring their own cleaning crews.

Walker says this business model is one that supports the local community, as cleaning is an industry that is forced to stay local, and for the most part, can’t be automated.

“As a small business owner, that unit franchisee is in turn adding jobs because he’s hiring employees to help him out with his cleaning business,” Walker says.

With a strong background in marketing and sales, Kemp says one of the reasons he chose Anago was the opportunity to mentor others with its unique business plan.

“I was looking for an opportunity that would allow me to not just build a business but be able to give back and help others,” Kemp says.

In a virtually recession-resistant industry, Anago has worked to keep a certain level of standards to keep itself above its competition. A nation-wide company in a $100 billion industry of small, locally owned businesses, Anago continues to expand. Currently the only other territory in the state, the Tucson area is available for franchising.
