Fulton Homes, a local home builder, has been awarded the Energy Star Partner of the Year in Sustained Excellence. They are one of only nine companies in the country to win this award in their category. This makes them the only builder to win this award three times. The Energy Start Partner of the Year Award recognizes companies for continued leadership in protecting our environment through superior energy efficiency achievements.

Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Scores determine how efficient a company is in this category. The lower the number, the better. The average score for a code built home is 100 but the average score for a Fulton Home is 52-62. Fulton Homes has started building all their homes with Wi-Fi thermostats that allows the homeowner to be in complete control no matter where they are. In addition to these thermostats all home also have LED lights, which stay much cooler than the average light.

In addition to the Energy Star Partner of the Year Award, Fulton Homes has also been awarded the Indoor airPLUS award. All Fulton Homes have features that allow for fresh air to be funneled into the home, an important feature when 20% of kids have asthma. “We did this to go above and beyond for our families” says Doug Fulton, CEO of Fulton Homes. Fulton Homes sold 542 Energy Star Homes in 2016 alone. While the average sale per community per month is 2.5 in Phoenix, Fulton Homes is at 6.0.

Fulton Homes will be recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, D.C. on April 26, 2017 for their accomplishments.
