The 100 Best Places to Live and Work in Arizona for 2023 earned the most support in voting for the 2023 edition of Ranking Arizona, the state’s biggest business opinion poll. The list includes LGE Design Build, a premier design-build construction firm with an industry-leading reputation built on 29 years of experience.

LGE Design Build

Phoenix-based LGE Design Build is a full-service, commercial general contractor, with architecture and construction offerings under one roof. For nearly three decades, LGE has streamlined the design and construction process on over 1,200 projects, totaling more than 28 million square feet.

Why is LGE Design Build a great place to work?

“I think it all comes from the top down,” says Amy Fricke, human resources manager at LGE Design Build. “We have an amazing leadership team. We have an open door policy. In 2017, the company created a values committee made up of employees from each department and they get together to make sure we have a fun, productive work environment. We do quarterly events for the team, so the architecture and construction teams all get together. The employees are our No. 1  focus, so we want to create and maintain the best culture possible.”

How do you describe your workplace culture to new employees?

“We’re a very fast-paced work environment,” Fricke says. “We work hard. We play hard. We have amazing perks. We have quarterly events. We have an onsite gym. We have a personal trainer that comes in twice a week. We have beer on tap. We have iced coffee on tap. We like to have fun, but we’re also there to create beautiful buildings for our clients.”

What mascot best represents your firm?

“A wolf because of the pack,” Fricke says. “We are a pack. We work together. We are very collaborative. We’re community focused with our nonprofit Sellers Foundation that gives back to our local community. With our company being on both the architecture and construction side of things, one of our taglines is, ‘we’re built as one.’ The way we work together and collaborate, is more like a pack of wolves.”
