Arizona Gives Day 2019, hosted by the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits and Arizona Grantmakers Forum and presented by FirstBank, raised a record total of more than $3.6 million for more than 650 nonprofit organizations statewide. Matson Money is a Platinum Sponsor.

Arizona Gives Day, an annual statewide day of giving that invites Arizonans to support their favorite local causes, also saw a 13% increase in the average individual gift amount from $123.34 to $142.18.

“The Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits is once again celebrating an incredibly successful Arizona Gives Day that showcased the power of our local communities to support the nonprofits that serve them.” said Kristen Merrifield, CEO of the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits.

For the 723 nonprofits registered this year, Arizona Gives Day offered an opportunity to raise awareness about their work, connect with new donors and win prize money to supplement individual donations.  Since 2013, Arizona Gives Day has raised more than $17 million for Arizona nonprofits.

“Arizona Gives Day was a huge success for KXCI 91.3 FM, Tucson’s Community Radio station,” said Jennie Grabel, Program Director & Donor Relations for KXCI.  “We reached our fundraising goal of raising $15,000 and felt the excitement and energy of the entire community coming together to support the nonprofit sector through generous and strategic giving.”

Organizations around the state benefitting from Arizona Gives Day also included Circle the City in Phoenix and Northland Pioneer College’s four campuses in Northeastern Arizona.

“Thank you for helping make AZ Gives Day a success,” said Circle the City’s Evert Moreno“Your support helps our communities learn about our mission of providing healthcare for the homeless.”

Northland Pioneer College’s Betsyann Wilson added that, “as a small, very rural nonprofit, this is a huge event for us, and one of our biggest fund and friend-raising opportunities of the year. It not only helps us generate dollars for need-based scholarships for the students of Northland Pioneer College, but also helps us share the very important story of the work all nonprofits do.”

Again this year, the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits will convene celebration parties in May in Tucson and Phoenix for all registered nonprofits and present incentive prize checks to winners. Any Arizona Gives Day registered nonprofit is welcome to attend these free events where there also will be an overview of the Arizona Gives Day results and findings and a chance to thank the many individuals and sponsors who made Arizona Gives Day possible.
