AXA Advisors Southwest, a leading provider of financial services for consumers and businesses, announced that Erik Pedersen has been promoted to senior vice president of the branch, which is located at 14851 N. Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale. In his new role, Pedersen will be responsible for oversight of growth and development with new financial professionals, development of new and existing markets in both Arizona and New Mexico and development of new leaders among existing financial professionals. He has been a member of the branch since 2005, most recently serving as divisional vice president. Prior, Pedersen worked at the Denver branch from 2003 to 2005.
In addition to the appointment, Pedersen has been named among the 2014 top ten divisional vice presidents across AXA Advisors nationwide, earning the honor out of nearly 200 AXA financial executives across the United States for his dedication to mentorship, work ethic and client development.
Passionate about developing a new generation of leaders in the Valley – both in the finance industry and beyond – Pedersen is the co-founder of GET Phoenix, a 501(c)6 non-profit organization that provides professional development opportunities to career-oriented young professionals in the area. Currently sitting on the organization’s advisory council, his focus is to help direct the organization on how to best provide networking and development opportunities to young professionals ages 24 to 39 in a variety of professional fields including finance, education, law, energy, insurance, marketing, biotechnology, real estate, medicine, accounting, manufacturing and more. In addition to this work with GET Phoenix, Pedersen recently completed service as both a board and advisory council member, respectively, of the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce.
Pedersen earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with a Minor in Economics from the University of Northern Colorado. He and his wife, Jen, also keep busy as the parents of two children under age four.
