Tax attorney and CPA Giselle C. Alexander has been appointed by Governor Doug Ducey to a five-year term on the Arizona State Board of Accountancy.

The seven-member board licenses and regulates Arizona’s 11,000 CPAs, overseeing their certification and registration, verifying education and experience credentials, monitoring the requirements for continuing education and investigating consumer complaints.

Alexander focuses her law practice on tax controversy, tax planning and state and local tax matters. She is a member of the State and Local Tax Committee of the ABA Section of Taxation and co-chairs its Exempt Organizations Subcommittee. She is also the Chief Budget Officer for the Tax Law Section of the State Bar of Arizona.

Active in the community, Alexander is a member of Ballet Barre, Ballet Arizona’s young professionals group, and she has served as a volunteer attorney for Wills for Heroes. While earning her LL.M. degree at Northwestern University Law School, she earned a Public Service Star Award for her volunteer work with the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. She also serves as treasurer of the Paradise Valley Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution.
