The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) will be accepting applications for its Valley Young Professionals (VYP) Board of Directors starting Wednesday, April 13, 2016.

The VYP Board of Directors is comprised of business leaders between the ages of 25 and 39 who are passionate about community involvement and are actively creating and overseeing a program that helps retain and attract young professionals to the Greater Phoenix region.

The board is responsible for the direction of VYP and helps to identify content, speakers, venues and community partnerships. Additionally, those selected will be asked to utilize their personal and professional relationships to help promote the work of the VYP as well as the Chamber.

Board members serve an initial two-year term with the option to renew for an additional two years. Interested applicants can download an application at www.phoenixchamber.com/vyp. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016.

To serve on the VYP Board of Directors you must be a member of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce or the Valley Young Professionals. Those who are not members of either organization are encouraged to inquire about membership in order to be eligible.

“VYP is one of the most amazing organizations in Phoenix,” said Erin Mettille, VYP Board of Directors chair and business development executive for Slalom Consulting. “Our mission is to build lasting relationships, establish professional development opportunities and be catalysts for change in our community.”

“Providing young professionals with the tools to be successful is vital to the future of our economy,” said Todd Sanders, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. “The Valley Young Professionals is that tool, connecting up-and-coming business leaders, providing opportunities for growth and fostering innovation.”
