The Arizona chapter of NAIOP, the commercial real estate voice for the state, elected new 2013 officers and board members at its annual board meeting on Nov. 6.

NAIOP-AZ officers for 2013 are: Chairman Keaton Merrell (above photo), Legacy Capital Advisors; Vice Chair Megan Creecy-Herman, Liberty Property Trust; Programs Chair Tom Johnston, Cushman & Wakefield; Treasurer Bob Hubbard, LBA Realty; and Secretary Laurie Sandau, Lawyers Title National Commercial Services.

“We are coming off a very successful year where we initiated a new one-on-one mentorship program for our young leaders along with a new partnership program with the graduate real estate program at ASU where a number of students will be partnering with NAIOP firms to learn the industry and hopefully stay in the state upon graduation,” said 2012 Chairman John DiVall of Liberty Property Trust.

“We are thrilled that Keaton Merrell is taking over as chairman as he played a key role in helping get both initiatives off the ground and his emphasis on philanthropy and giving back to the community will take our chapter to the next level during the upcoming year,” DiVall said.

New board members elected to new three-year terms were: Tammy Carr of Howard S. Wright; Andrew Cheney of Lee & Associates; Kevin Rogus of Duke Realty Corporation; Steven Schwarz of ViaWest Properties, LLC, and Chuck Vogel of Cole Investment Advisors. Re-nominated members with lapsing terms elected were Bob Mulhern of Colliers International and Kurt Rosene of The Alter Group.

These new officers and new or re-nominated board members join the existing board members that include: Jodi Bailey of Transwestern; Bill Olson of Hines; Tony Lydon of Jones, Lang LaSalle; Jaime Northam of GPEC and both Mike Haenel of Cassidy Turley and John DiVall of Liberty Property Trust, who also serve on the Executive Committee as past chairmen.
