IREM Greater Phoenix Chapter announces 2020 leadership

The Greater Phoenix Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), an international community of real estate managers dedicated to ethical business practices, has announced its leadership and council members for 2020.

Rosalinda Moehn, CPM, with NLR Management/Haan Development, will serve as president. The leadership team includes Tyrel Williams, CPM, MEB Commercial Management Group, president-elect; Brent Penrod, CPM, Eisenberg Company, treasurer/secretary; and Melissa Boyle, CPM, bkm Management Company, past president.

Mike Adams appointed to Maricopa Economic Development Alliance board of directors

Mike Adams, Group President of Great Western Bank, has joined the board of directors of Maricopa Economic Development Alliance (MEDA).

MEDA is the City of Maricopa’s private-public partnership for economic development.  As a 501(c)3 corporation, the organization champions strategies and solutions that foster economic growth and prosperity in Maricopa by bringing together the business, government, education and civic sectors to identify and advance policies that facilitate investment, growth and workforce development.  

Adams is a 38-year banking professional managing offices including Maricopa, Casa Grande, Tucson, Eloy, Coolidge and Globe. He manages commercial bankers focusing on commercial, industrial, manufacturing, agricultural, real estate construction (owner occupied, investment & subdivision) lending and deposit activities throughout the State. 

A Tucson resident, Adams is a native of California and a graduate from the University of Oregon. 

Great Western Bank has a long history in Pinal County, dating back to 1999 when the bank’s predecessor, Casa Grande Valley, open the first bank in Maricopa. The bank has operated under the Great Western name since 2007.

Sun Health hires new chief marketing officer

Sun Health has welcomed Vincent Benbenek as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Benbenek joined the organization in November.

He brings to his new role extensive experience and expertise in strategy and marketing, utilizing both to build and enhance brands, drive engagement and grow revenue. 

In addition to running his own marketing and brand development agency, Benbenek recently served as vice president of Marketing and Communications for Cape Fear Valley Health, an integrated, eight-hospital system with more than 75 locations across seven counties in Fayetteville, N.C. For nearly 10 years he led the marketing team to dramatically increase brand recognition, top of mind and recall in primary and secondary markets; repair and enhance Cape Fear Valley’s reputation; and accelerate service line growth.

“Vince’s extensive brand management and development of digital marketing initiatives, as well as ownership of his own marketing and advertising firm, makes him a great fit for Sun Health,” says Sun Health President and CEO Joe La Rue. “As CMO, Vince will be leading Sun Health’s branding efforts, including the Foundation’s Generosity for Generations capital campaign and the extensive programs and services offered through Sun Health Wellness. 2 elected to lead the Maricopa County Special Health Care District board of directors

Mark Dewane, a financial advisor with over 25 years of volunteer experience, has been re-elected chairman of the Maricopa County Special Health Care District Board of Directors. 

Also, Mary Rose Wilcox, a Latina trailblazer with more than 30 years of public service, has been elected Vice-Chair by the five-member body that oversees Valleywise Health, our community’s public teaching hospital and safety net system of care.

“Mark’s leadership has been instrumental during a pivotal period for our community’s only public teaching hospital and safety net system of care,” said Steve Purves, Valleywise Health President and CEO. “There is no stronger advocate in the community for our mission and vision.” 

Dewane first joined the Board in 2012. “I am honored to serve a second term as Chairman while we continue to transform our health care system. I will continue to work closely with our medical partners, District Medical Group, and our hospital leadership to reshape Valleywise Health to better serve our community.”

Wilcox brings a deep knowledge of Valleywise Health. As a member of the Maricopa County Board of Supervision, she served on the original Maricopa County Hospital and Health System Board from 1992 to 2003, when the current District Board was created. She joined the Maricopa County Special Health Care District Board in 2016.
