Healthcare IT company Topaz Information Services named Javier Favela president and CEO. Topaz is a national provider of healthcare technology solutions, including electronic health records, practice management tools, population health and data analytics, and managed IT services.

In this role, Favela’s responsibilities include overseeing the sales and support teams, contract negotiations, product and service development, human resources development and business operation management.

Favela has 15 years of experience in operations, accounting and finance, most recently serving as interim CEO for Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JFCS), a large Phoenix-based social service agency.

Prior to that role, he served as chief financial and operating officer at JFCS, where he was responsible for all business and financial operations for a $48+ million budget and 600+ employees, with oversight of all administrative departments including information technology, business intelligence, accounting, claims, contracts and purchasing.

“This role gives me an opportunity to leverage my experience as a health and human services executive to enhance Topaz’s organizational productivity and efficiency by effectively directing and supporting financial and business operations,” Favela said. “Topaz has grown from a start-up to a robust operation with clients in nine states and 43 employees, and we have plans to expand even further.”

Favela graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy. He is a member of the board of directors for Family Involvement Center and Partners In Recovery.
