WebPT, the leading rehab therapy software platform, today announced the appointment of Nancy Ham as the company’s chief executive officer. A veteran healthcare tech executive with a successful track record of growing and operating private and public healthcare information technology companies, Ham will help lead WebPT through its next phase of growth.

“WebPT is scaling its business dramatically. It has grown its revenue more than 35 percent annually in the last two years,” said Chelsea Stoner, WebPT board member and general partner at Battery Ventures, which invested in WebPT in 2014. “Nancy is the right executive to take the company to the next level, and we are very excited to have her on board.”

Prior to taking the helm at WebPT, Ham served as CEO of Healthagen Population Solutions, an Aetna Company. In this role, she oversaw a suite of acquired and startup technology businesses, including Medicity, the largest provider of health information exchange (HIE) technology; HDMS, a leader in business intelligence solutions to payers, employers and providers; and Healthagen Outcomes, an analytics solution that supports clinical trial management.

“As WebPT’s path of success continues into our next phase of expansion, I am thrilled to welcome a high-caliber executive who not only has extensive experience in healthcare technology, but also shares our company’s commitment to conscious leadership,” said Dr. Heidi Jannenga, co-founder and president of WebPT. “Nancy’s resume speaks volumes about her dedication to excellence and innovation. Her companies have received such prestigious awards as the Best in KLAS, Gartner Magic Quadrant Visionary, and the Microsoft Healthcare User Group Award for Interoperability. She has guided numerous top-tier healthcare companies to new echelons of growth and opportunity, and I am confident she’ll do the same for WebPT.”

Since entering the market as a documentation system for physical, occupational and speech therapists, WebPT has evolved into a complete software solution for outpatient rehab therapy businesses. As the company continues to expand its product offerings and market reach, Ham will leverage her deep healthcare IT experience and industry knowledge to help WebPT build upon its history of success and continual innovation.

“WebPT is a special company — from its vibrant culture to its passion for helping therapists achieve greatness in practice. It’s an honor to join Chelsea, Heidi and the entire WebPT team; I look forward to helping the company expand upon and accelerate its impressive growth,” said Ham. “We are privileged to serve nearly 9,000 practices, and I am excited about getting to know — and championing — our customers.”

In addition to her tenure at Healthagen Population Solutions, Ham has served as president, CEO and director at MedVentive; president of Sentillion; and president of ProxyMed, the industry’s second-largest independent medical claims clearinghouse. In 2016, she was recognized as one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Health IT: Thought Leaders by HealthData Management. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Duke University and a master’s in International Business Studies (MIBS) from the University of South Carolina.

Ham replaces Paul Winandy, who served as the company’s CEO from 2010 to 2016.
