More than 500 people packed Chateau Luxe Wednesday as Az Business and AZRE magazines honored the publications’ lists of the Most Influential Women in Arizona for 2017.
“This year’s list includes a mayor, a CEO who started her aerospace career at NASA, tribal leaders, an Olympic gold medalist, a leader who appeared on ‘Shark Tank’ and the first female chief of police in Phoenix, who has really had her hands full this week,” said AZ Big Media Publisher Cheryl Green. “But you ALL have amazing stories. And you are all changing the face of Arizona Business.”

One of the highlights of the evening came when City of Phoenix Police Chief Jeri Williams thanked the other influential women for their support and confidence after President Donald Trump’s visit to Phoenix Tuesday put her department to the test.
“I appreciate all the calls and emails of support,” Williams said. “It means a lot to me knowing that we have the community behind us. I love you, Phoenix.”
Another highlight came when Mark Anthony from Black, Starr & Frost, an Al Molina brand, awarded a prize on an 18-karat white gold halo pendant, set with an oval ruby weighing 1.13 karats and 56 round brilliant diamonds. The prize was valued at more than $5,000.
