Community Legal Services (CLS) will host a 65th anniversary celebration and fundraiser on Thursday, October 19 at the Sandra Day O’Connor Federal Courthouse Building in Phoenix. The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and will include a launch of Community Legal Services’ inaugural giving society – Justice Champions.
This event will help in raising funds and awareness to allow the vital work of CLS to continue.
Award Presenter In Chief Justice Ann A. Scott Timmer will assist in honoring and congratulating recipients of the CLS “Decade of Dedication” and the Volunteer Lawyers Program “For Love of Justice” pro bono awards. Honorees will be acknowledged for outstanding contributions in the following categories: Case and Operations Support Awards, Clinic Services Awards, Attorney of the Month Awards – Maricopa County, Attorney of the Year Awards – Maricopa, Mohave, Yavapai, Yuma Counties, and Access to Justice Achievement Awards.
Donations to Community Legal Services help to provide civil legal services, including legal advice or representation and self-help materials and legal education, to Arizonans whose income is at or below 125 percent of the federal poverty level.
CLS is a Qualified Charitable Organization by the Arizona Department of Revenue, so all donations are tax deductible.
