Phoenix-based Dircks Moving Services is purchasing the assets of Suddath Relocation Systems of Arizona, LLC and will immediately rebrand two new properties as Horizon Moving & Logistics.
The acquisition brings the original name, Horizon, of the long-trusted full-service moving company back to the Tucson greater area and to the metro Phoenix area location. Horizon Moving & Logistics will be an agent for United Van Lines, one of the top van lines in the country and Dircks Moving & Logistics remains a Mayflower agent, continuing as the top-rated booking agent in the country. Horizon and Dircks will be operated as separate companies.

The acquisition will allow for a greater Arizona footprint and for Dircks to emphasize its leadership position in residential and commercial moving as well as corporate relocation services throughout the entire state. Nearly all staff acquired from the Suddath deal are being retained and an increase in staffing levels both in Tucson and Phoenix will occur during the first quarter of 2018. With the acquisition, the combined warehouse square footage capabilities increase 35% to 375,000 square feet. The sale was effective as of December 31, 2017 and terms will not be disclosed.
