Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (NYSE: AJG) announced the acquisition of The MW Bagnall Company, located in Phoenix.  Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.  Bagnall will immediately begin operating as a subsidiary of Gallagher Benefit Services (GBS), a division of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. and the name change will be effective as of July 1, 2017.  The merger marks the first benefits branch for Arthur J. Gallagher in Arizona.  

Founded in 1995, The MW Bagnall Company (MWB) is an employee benefits broker and consulting operation that provides employee benefits, human resource consulting services, employee wellness programs and insurance products to middle-and-larger market businesses throughout the Southwestern United States. They specialize in strategic planning and designing tailored benefit programs and other HR/benefit solutions such as wellness plans, compliance support and employee communications and have extensive experience in public education sector.    

Mark Bagnall, CEO, and Cynthia Walter, president, and their team will continue to operate from their current location under the direction of Norbert Chung, head of Gallagher’s Western employee benefit consulting and brokerage operations.  The merger will bring a great deal of value to existing clients who will gain access to a national firm with abundant resources.
