Prenexus Health has announced Gilbert, Arizona as the location for its prebiotic ingredient manufacturing and corporate headquarters. The facility will occupy 39,000-square-feet at AZ|60 in Gilbert’s Northwest Corridor and is set to be operational by the end of 2018 with 45-50 new jobs created over the next two years.

“We’re excited to be locating our first prebiotic manufacturing site in Gilbert, Arizona,” said Tim Brummels, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder for Prenexus Health. Brummels further indicated, “Arizona offers Prenexus Health an ideal location, near our vertically-integrated supply chain, along with access to a skilled labor pool.”

“Prenexus Health joins a growing number of innovative science-based companies who have expanded operations in Greater Phoenix to attract and reach a growing customer base,” said Chris Camacho, President & CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. “The site in Gilbert allows Prenexus Health to go to scale by tapping into local resources and a dynamic talent pool that are ready and willing to support their current and future growth.”

“We are excited to see continued investment in the Northwest Corridor from innovative companies like Prenexus Health,” said Gilbert Mayor Jenn Daniels. “They join industry leading companies in the area like GoDaddy and Northrop Grumman/Orbital ATK and we look forward to welcoming them to the community.”

Prenexus will produce one of the world’s first organic prebiotic ingredients from high fiber sugarcane for use in foods, beverages and dietary supplements. Prebiotics promote the selective growth of beneficial micro-organisms for digestive health and wellness.

“The expansion of Prenexus health highlights the growing diversification in the manufacturing industry in Gilbert,” said Dan Henderson, Director of the Gilbert Office of Economic Development. “We’re seeing increased growth in specialized areas like the prebiotic that Prenexus Health plans to manufacture and we are excited to support this type of innovation in manufacturing as this industry grows.”

Prenexus Health will be producing a xylooligosaccharide (XOS) ingredient from organic-certified, non-GMO high fiber sugarcane that the company grows in the Imperial Valley of California. The manufacturing process is sustainable, utilizes no chemicals and will be organic certified.

“Many prebiotic ingredients are manufactured outside the United States,” said Brummels. “We’re proud that our prebiotic ingredient will support U.S. farmers and create manufacturing jobs in America.”
