Honoring the West Valley’s best, WESTMARC has selected the finalists for its Annual Best of the West Awards Dinner. There are four categories that will be recognized: Economic Engine, Excellence in Innovation, Quality of Life Enhancement in the Community and Quality of Life Enhancement in Education.

This year WESTMARC received 35 competitive nominations. Below are the finalists in each category.

• Economic Engine: Desert Diamond West Valley Casino and City of Avondale Coldwater Depot Logistics Center

• Excellence in Innovation: City of Peoria’s Business Concierge – Empowers Businesses with Resources and Solutions 

• Quality of Life Enhancement in the Community: West Valley Arts Council and Maryvale Revitalization Corporation’s HERO U Program

• Quality of Life Enhancement in Education: Speak Up, Stand Up, Save a Life and Canyon View High School

The 27th Annual Best of the West Awards Dinner will be taking place on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the State Farm Stadium, presented by the Arizona Cardinals.

In addition to the four annual awards, the WESTMARC Board of Directors will also present the Inspiration in Leadership award to Littleton School District Superintendent Dr. Roger Freeman and the Regional Advancement award to Mike and Cindy Watts – ASU Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions.  This year’s President’s Choice Award recipient is Julie Rees with Triadvocates LLC.
