Dental continuing education leader Spear Education announced it has acquired Pride Institute, a California-based industry authority that brings decades of practice management expertise and content into the Spear ecosystem of campus and online learning.

The acquisition of Pride and its history of developing in-depth practice management solutions will not only strengthen how Spear serves clients on its Practice Solutions platform, which was introduced in 2017, but will also enhance the overall educational content available to dental professionals everywhere.

The Spear-Pride announcement comes in advance of the 10th annual Spear Summit, hosted Sept. 13-15 at the Spear Campus and neighboring Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort, which draws dentists from around the world.

Spear also becomes the steward of the vision of Dr. Jim Pride, a longtime advocate for increased education to help dentists balance the clinical and business demands of their practices.

“When Dr. Pride passed away in 2004, we made a promise that we would carry on his legacy, utilizing new models and new methods to create success. It has been 14 years and all of us at Pride Institute continue to pursue that vision,” said Amy Morgan, Pride’s CEO. “We are excited to join Spear Education and take Dr. Pride’s vision to the next level.”

Morgan will serve as a member of Spear Resident Faculty and teach practice management courses both online and at the Spear Campus, helping to coach both clients and consultants, and incorporate Pride content into the Spear ecosystem.

“Pride Institute is one of the most respected names in practice management,” said Spear President Rezwan Manji. “Their approach to dental consulting aligns perfectly with Spear’s philosophy and Practice Solutions consulting model. We are excited to incorporate Pride Institute’s decades of knowledge and expertise to help our clients and their teams achieve their practice goals.”
