KTAR News 92.3 FM and Arizona Sports 98.7 FM’s annual Give-A-Thon for Phoenix Children’s, presented by The Valley Hyundai Dealers and the Ak-Chin Indian Community, raised an impressive $2,369,254. Held from Aug. 12-16, the week-long fundraising event saw communities throughout Arizona contribute to support the world class care provided at Phoenix Children’s. The KTAR News & Arizona Sports Give-A-Thon is the most successful radiothon of its kind in the nation.

“We are incredibly thankful to KTAR News, Arizona Sports, and the local community for their unwavering support,” said Steve Schnall, Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation’s senior vice president and chief development officer. “The KTAR News & Arizona Sports Give-A-Thon is a powerful reminder that when we reach out, our community responds with generosity, ensuring that children receive the exceptional healthcare they deserve.”

All proceeds generated will directly benefit Phoenix Children’s Hope Fund, a critical source of funding for the hospital’s areas of greatest need. These funds support pioneering research, state-of-the-art technology, recruitment of leading physicians and the implementation of programs designed to create a more comfortable hospital environment for children.

“Breaking a record like this doesn’t happen by accident,” said Tim Harrison, vice president and head of corporate partnerships & special events at Phoenix Children’s. “Over our 16-year partnership with Bonneville we have built the largest radiothon in the country using a lot of hard work and passion from both sides. They understand the growing need to support the patients and families here at Phoenix Children’s and didn’t bat an eye when we set the largest goal we’ve ever had this year. We made the call to Bonneville and their listeners to be champions for these kids and they exceeded our wildest expectations.”

Supporters were invited to become a Champion of Hope by making a monthly gift of $20 or a one-time gift of $240. As a token of appreciation, each Champion of Hope has a teddy bear donated in their name to a current Phoenix Children’s patient, bringing comfort and joy to children undergoing treatment. The Give-A-Thon will return in August 2025. For those who missed this year’s event, donations are still welcome. Please visit GiveathonForPCH.org to contribute.
