Govig & Associates, one of the largest privately-held firms in the global MRINetwork of executive search firms, has launched GovigU, a college graduate recruitment program for small- and medium-sized businesses in preparation for the impending shortage of qualified talent.

The GovigU team partners with clients to enhance their employer brand recognition amongst the college and university talent market, and coaches businesses on the services and expertise needed to attract college graduates. The program helps companies identify, source and acquire new graduate talent for full-time and internship positions.

With a current rate of 10 thousand baby boomers retiring every day, the backfill of qualified Gen X workers will quickly be outpaced.  The talent shortage is forcing companies to become more competitive and proficient in its hiring and retention strategies.

“It is estimated that 46 percent of the workforce in the U.S. will be Millennials by the year 2020,” said Todd Govig, President and CEO of Govig & Associates. “The trends we’re seeing points to a looming war for talent across nearly all hiring spectrums. We believe GovigU will dramatically expand our clients’ talent pipeline.”

According to a 2015 LinkedIn survey of more than 4,000 talent acquisition leaders in 31 countries, nearly 70 percent of small- and medium-sized businesses already recruit students directly from the college campus to help meet their talent needs.
