WOMEN IN BUSINESS: The Most Influential Women in Arizona for 2026
WOMEN IN REAL ESTATE: The Most Influential Women in Commercial Real Estate for 2026
Delma Herrera, telecom field sales executive
Background: With more than 30 years of sales, telecommunications and people-leadership experience, Herrera is known for building high-performing, inclusive teams and mentoring women into leadership and nontraditional roles. A child of immigrants from Mexico, Herrera brings a personal commitment to opportunity, service and community. She is past chair and former board member at Chicanos Por La Causa and was recognized by Az Business magazine as one of Arizona’s Most Influential Minority Business Leaders.
Advice to younger self: “I would tell my younger self: ‘Don’t mistake uncertainty for inadequacy. You may not always know the language, the room, the rules or the path, but you belong there. Work hard, learn the job, ask questions and then do it better than anyone expected. Most important, don’t stand in the back waiting to be invited forward. Your story, your voice and your perspective are not obstacles to overcome. They are the very things that will help you lead.’”
Professional legacy: “I hope my legacy is that I showed people how success is built and how it should be shared. I learned the business, did the work, earned trust and then used that trust to clear the path for others. The greatest measure of that work is not only promotions or business results, but people who became more confident, more decisive and more willing to lead because someone believed they were ready. I want those leaders to pay it forward, especially for women still learning how powerful their own voice can be.”
Surprising fact: “People may be surprised that even with a big title, I still think like a trainer and teammate. I have always believed I work for my people. My job is to learn the business, remove obstacles, build confidence and help others step forward and shine.”
