Barb Kozuh
Executive director
Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation
Background: Under her direction, the Foundation launched the Delta Dental of Arizona Oral Health Clinic at St. Vincent de Paul, Banner Health HOPE program, Phoenix Children’s Hospital Oral Health Education Program, and University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix Oral Health In Medicine Initiative. Kozuh serves on Delta Dental Institute Advisory Council, Corporate Volunteer Council Board, and is a member of the Arizona Oral Health Coalition.
Key to success: “The keys to success for me have been my network of mentors. These people have helped guide me throughout my career by offering advice, feedback, and business insight. Their support has helped me define and reach my goals, made me accountable and offered encouragement. Their guidance impacted my career – and my life – immensely.”
Source of pride: “The last few years I have focused my work on creating systemic change. I was able to help successfully partner with Banner University Medical Center – Phoenix and University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix to help create programs that are literally changing processes throughout these large healthcare institutions. Ultimately, that work could help literally millions of people access whole-body healthcare, increase positive health outcomes and help lower costs.”
Surprising fact: “I was responsible for selling all the memorabilia from old Comiskey Park when the Chicago White Sox moved into the new ballpark. The funds raised would become the corpus to fund the newly created Chicago White Sox Charities. The auction sold everything from stadium seats to bathroom signs and raised over $3 million.”
