Today’s spotlight: Kim Dees
Senior vice president and Southern Arizona division manager
WaFd Bank Arizona
Background: Dees is a past recipient of the Tucson Women’s Council of REALTORS Lifetime Achievement Award and Tucson REALTOR Affiliate of the Year Award. Dees currently sits on the Care Fund Tucson Advisory Council and the Mortgage and Rent Assistance Advisory Committee.
Professional advice: “Be nimble and both a seeker and gatherer of information on all things within your industry and in the world around you. Also, start at the branch level. Learn every position so that when in a leadership role, you intimately understand the needs of your team and potential challenges.”
Lesson learned in 2020: “Patience is hard, but worth it. When you have a big idea, you want it to happen immediately. But allowing the idea to go through a process – development, training, deployment, success metrics, et al – gives it a better chance of being more than just a fleeting flash in the pan.”
Surprising fact: “For three weeks this year, my husband made an RV our home. More specifically, we sold our actual home before we were able to close on another, so we lived in our RV very briefly from late May to early June. It was actually really fun.”
