Today’s spotlight: Lisa Ordóñez
Title: Vice dean, Eller College of Management
Background: Ordóñez has been a professor in the Eller College at The University of Arizona since 1994 and has served as vice dean since 2015.
Sources of pride: “I am most proud of earning my doctorate, especially given that my parents didn’t complete high school. It has allowed me to pursue an incredibly interesting and rewarding career in academia.”
Lesson learned: “I used to listen to the voice inside my head that says that I can’t do something. I have learned to replace those negative words with positive and encouraging words. Still, occasionally a few negative words sneak through … but now I ignore them.”
