From a field of more than 2,200 women under consideration, the Most Influential Women in Arizona were selected by the editorial board of Az Business magazine and a panel of 12 former Most Influential Women. The Most Influential Women in Arizona Business for 2026 will be honored at a celebratory dinner on Aug. 20, 2026, at Chateau Luxe in Phoenix. Angela Hughey, co-founder and president, ONE Community
Background: As president of ONE Community and ONE Community Foundation, Hughey works with LGBTQ+, business and political communities on issues of diversity, equality and inclusion and their impact on our economy. In 2013, ONE Community launched the UNITY Pledge to advance workplace equality and equal treatment for LGBTQ+ individuals, which has become the nation’s largest equality pledge with 3,800 business signers. In 2025, ONE Community co-founded Arizona Leadership Network, a professional leadership community that supports experienced leaders in continuing their growth.
Advice to younger self: “I’d tell my younger self to trust more. Trust the timing, trust the process, and trust myself. When I was younger, I felt like I needed to have everything mapped out, but some of the best opportunities have come from paths I never could have planned. With experience, I’ve learned that when I trust myself and stay open, I’m a big believer in being led exactly where I’m meant to be, even if it’s not where I expected to go.”
Surprising fact: “I’m a cornfed Midwestern farm girl. I grew up on an Arabian horse farm in rural Ohio. We’d come to Arizona for the big Arabian shows, and that’s how my family fell in love with the state and made the move.”
