Thorpe Shwer announced that Lorena Van Assche and Mitch Fleischmann have joined its litigation team.

Lorena practices in the areas of business, commercial, lending, and trust and estate litigation.  Lorena has experience resolving disputes involving business, financial, and employment contracts, restrictive covenants, real estate, commercial leases, and wills and trusts.  Her clients include businesses, financial institutions, commercial landlords and tenants, developers, entrepreneurs, and public entities.

Lorena is a passionate supporter of the Hispanic community. As a first-generation American whose first language is Spanish, Lorena grew up in the border town of Yuma, Arizona and spent significant time across the border in Ciudad Morelos, Baja California, Mexico.

Mitch focuses his practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation, real estate and business disputes, and tort law. In his diversified practice, Mitch has engaged in wide-ranging advocacy in domestic and international business and commercial litigation matters. In serving a diverse group of clients, ranging from individuals to large international corporations, Mitch has consulted, advised, litigated, and resolved matters involving, amongst others, contractual disputes, trade secret and unfair business practice matters, tort claims, fiduciary duties, and federal and state statutory violations. He has significant trial experience in both large and small-scale litigation matters, as well as written and oral advocacy experience in both federal and state appellate courts.

Sonora Quest CIO receives impressive designation

Launched in 2008 by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), the CHCIO program is the only certification designed exclusively for leaders in health information technology. It represents one of the highest professional achievements in the industry.

Jones, Skelton & Hochuli welcomes Joel Brodfuehrer

Jones, Skelton & Hochuli, PLC welcomed associate Joel Brodfuehrer to our Professional Liability Group. Joel focuses his practice in the areas of professional liability defense, insurance litigation, and commercial and contract litigation. He represents architects and engineers, physicians, lawyers, board directors and officers, and real estate agents and brokers. 

Before joining JSH, Joel served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Paul McMurdie and Judicial Extern for the Honorable Philip Espinosa at the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One and Two respectively. During this time, he gained significant civil and appellate experience, authored numerous decisions, and routinely presented cases in pre-trial conferences before three-judge panels. 

While earning his law degree at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, Joel volunteered as a Writing Center Fellow and was promoted to Head of the Writing Center in his final semester. He gained practical legal experience as a Legal Intern with the Attorney General’s Office for Southern Arizona White Collar and Criminal Enterprise. Remaining active in his law school community, Joel served as President of the Environmental Law Society, as Head Kaplan Representative, and as a member of the Arizona Law Review. He graduated cum laude, and earned two CALI Excellence for the Future Awards.
