In a strategic update of its popular Scottsdale Road property, RED Development today announced targeted renovations and new retailers and restaurants for Hilton Village. The center will add CVS, Chico’s, Urbayn, as well as new restaurants – Tap House Kitchen and Nekter Juice Bar.
Property improvements taking place this fall alongside the new retailers and restaurants are designed to refresh the center’s original Spanish Colonial design and update signage, landscaping, lighting and more.

“We are polishing this exceptional property that already has a strong following in Scottsdale,” said Mike Ebert, Managing Partner, for RED Development.  “RED is reinvesting in Hilton Village with the kind of updates that make a difference for shoppers and retailers — from updating courtyards and improving signage to basics like resealing the parking areas. New retailers and new restaurants also add to the appeal of this popular retail property.”

Well regarded for its roster of local boutiques, specialty stores and strong restaurant line-up, Hilton Village was acquired by RED Development in spring of 2012.

In one significant change for Hilton Village, a new, 15,000 square-foot CVS store will take the place of the existing office building at the corner of Scottsdale Road and McDonald Drive, with construction set to begin in August.  New to the shopping center is Chico’s, the women’s fashion retailer, which moves from The Borgata to a 4,300 square-foot store at Hilton Village.  The new Chico’s store will open in late July. Urbayn, a boutique retailer, will open a 1,600 square-foot store filled with gifts, accessories, home décor and fragrance, bath and body products and fashions. Urbayn will open in late 2013.

Two new restaurants – Tap House Kitchen and Nekter Juice Bar – are tasty additions to the existing line-up. Tap House Kitchen is a 3,500 square-foot upscale gastropub concept new to the Valley that features delicious small plates including Bavarian pretzel bread bruschetta, innovative salads and BYOBs (Build Your Own Burgers) with grass-fed beef, gourmet cheeses, sauces and more.  Set to open this fall, Tap House Kitchen rounds out the experience with 24 craft and local beers on tap.

Nekter Juice Bar, a raw, 100% natural juice bar serving vegan juices, smoothies, nutritious snacks, acai bowls and cleanse programs, will occupy a 1,400 square-foot store at the property. Nekter Juice Bar also will open at Hilton Village this fall.  Also planned as part of the property’s renovation is an update to the longstanding Good Egg restaurant and Exclusively Big & Tall.

“RED Development has a strong track record in helping well-positioned shopping centers succeed,” said Christopher Osborn, Partner, Tap House Kitchen.  “With these smart renovations and the property’s great location that draws some of the best neighborhood clientele in the state, this favorite Scottsdale destination will be more attractive than ever.”

Hilton Village is a 97,000 square-foot neighborhood specialty center situated on the east side of Scottsdale Road between Lincoln and McDonald Drive. The property has more than 25 specialty shops, restaurants and services including: Houston’s, Humble Pie, Starbucks, Mood Swings Salon Scottsdale, and The Linen Tree.
