The Arizona Diamondbacks and FOX Sports Arizona are teaming up to select the next D-backs legend to be honored in the Legends Entertainment District in downtown Phoenix, presented by APS.

Fans are encouraged to log on to foxsportsarizona.com to vote for the D-backs legend they feel deserves to be featured in the District. The nominees are: Mark Grace, Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling, and Matt Williams. Fan voting runs through Sunday, September 9.

Grace is a three-time All-Star and four-time winner of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award. He played first base for the D-backs from 2001-03 and was part of the World Series Championship team in 2001. Currently, he serves as the D-backs’ analyst on FOX Sports Arizona

Johnson is a 10-time All-Star and five-time Cy Young Award Winner. He is the franchise leader in nearly every pitching category during his tenure with the D-backs (1999-2004 and 2007-08), including wins (118), strikeouts (2,077), complete games (38), innings pitched (1,630.1), games started (232), ERA (2.83) and shutouts (14). He shared World Series MVP and Sports Illustrated “Sportsmen of the Year” honors with Curt Schilling following the D-backs’ World Championship season in 2001.

Schilling is a six-time All-Star and three-time World Series Champion, sharing the World Series MVP Award with Johnson in 2001. He pitched for the D-backs from 2000-03 recording a 22-6 record with a 2.98 ERA in 2001 to lead the majors in wins and innings pitched. He led the D-backs to a World Series Championship going 4-0 with a 1.12 ERA throughout the 2001 playoffs.

Williams is a five-time All-Star, four-time Gold Glove Award Winner and four-time Silver Slugger Award Winner. Currently he serves as the D-backs’ third base coach after a 17-year playing career as a third baseman. He was a member of the 2001 World Series Championship team and played six seasons with the D-backs (1998-2003).

Arizona Diamondbacks legend and special assistant to the president, Luis Gonzalez, was the first D-backs player to be featured in the Legends District in September 2011.

FOX Sports Arizona will unveil the newest D-backs legend during its D-backs-Giants pregame show on Saturday, September 15 (4:30 p.m.). First pitch is scheduled for 5:10 p.m. on Alumni Day that will feature a game highlighting D-backs alumni at Chase Field after the D-backs game. The player who receives the most votes will be featured on a 42-foot tall super graphic across from Chase Field located at the intersection of Jefferson and 5th Street in the Legends Entertainment District.

Legends Entertainment District offers customized, larger than life out-of-home signage opportunities that run 18 hours a day, 365 days a year. The project is designed to encompass landmark downtown facilities, extending from 1st Avenue to 7th Street and Washington to Jackson Street.
