PebbleCreek, a Robson Resort Community in Goodyear, announced the expansion of its Tuscany Falls Country Club. An additional seven holes are planned for the pristine course along with several other renovations. Originally designed by noted golf architects Dick Bailey and Brad Bartel, Tuscany Falls offers play with dramatic mounding, rolling fairways and strategically placed bunkers. The added changes mean Tuscany Falls will have two 18-hole championship golf courses.
“We have more than 1,180 members, so golf is growing at PebbleCreek,” said PebbleCreek’s Director of Golf, Jason Whitehill. “We have an entry-level PebbleCreek Putters Club with more than 400 members and the four other golf associations (PCLGA, PCL9GA, PCMGA, PCM9GA) are also growing rapidly. What really drives this is the strong strategic player development program the staff has implemented over the last three years and an increase in home sales.”
One of the unique characteristics of the new golf holes, designed by golf legend Tom Schroeder, will be the third hole, which is a par three with a three-acre lake.
“It’ll be the biggest lake on the property at PebbleCreek,” Whitehill said. “With breathtaking views of the White Tank Mountains, this will be our signature hole.”
Nice large greens will provide golfers with unique challenges. The eighth hole will be a picturesque par five with a lake next to it and will provide golfers with a lot of risk and reward when playing.
Renovation of the back practice range and tees are also part of the expansion. Sand traps will be updated with new liners that will create better drainage and less contamination of the native soils.
Work has already started, and the back nine holes at the Lakes Course at PebbleCreek is currently closed. The expansion’s anticipated completion is this fall. The course is open to non-residents as well.
“We’re ready for the new golf holes,” Whitehill said. “It’s a great layout and we’re excited for it to open.”
Currently, PebbleCreek has more than 4,700 homes and is growing. In 2018, PebbleCreek expects to add about 170 more homes to the mix and anticipates 2019 to be just as strong. PebbleCreek is also home to the Eagle’s Nest Country Club, which features an 18-hole championship course with seven lakes and spectacular views of the nearby White Tank Mountains.
