Leaders in innovation and entrepreneurship will join Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey at Arizona’s signature tech event, DesTechAZ. The two-day event on Oct. 16-17 is an opportunity to showcase, celebrate and elevate Arizona as a technology metropolis.
“It’s exciting to see the many great tech ideas being developed in the state of Arizona and experience that excitement at DesTechAZ as they celebrate those initiatives and the companies supporting them,” said Steve Wozniak, who will be returning as a featured speaker at this year’s event. Wozniak will discuss the latest advances in STEM education, and his future ventures.
Governor Ducey will also be speaking at the DesTechAZ dinner program on Oct. 17. Other event highlights include a top NASA panel on Technology, Innovation & The Universe including James Green, NASA’s Chief Scientist, and a Founders Fireside Chat with Vince Kadlubek of Meow Wolf, an immersive experiences company coming soon to Arizona, and David Hanson of Hanson Robotics.
New this year, the Arizona Commerce Authority’s Arizona Innovation Challenge portfolio companies will participate in the Venture Ready Graduation and Pitch Showcase on Oct. 16. One company selected by the judging panel will receive the Arizona Commerce Authority and DesTechAZ Entrepreneurial Excellence Award, to be announced at the dinner program.
DesTechAZ — built around the three pillars of innovation, collaboration and education — will also feature interactive sessions on diverse topics like blockchain and cryptocurrency, autonomous vehicles, robotics, cybersecurity, 5G mobile tech and drones. The sessions will be held in a roundtable format that allows attendees to have productive conversations and make meaningful connections with top leaders in tech.
“DesTechAZ is where top leaders in innovation come together to celebrate Arizona as an emerging technology hub,” says DesTechAZ Founder Shelly Murphy. “This event brings together so many of us working toward the same goal of bringing innovative initiatives and investment to our great state.”
DesTechAZ will be held on Oct. 16 and 17 at the Scottsdale Fairmont Princess located at 7575 E. Princess Drive, Scottsdale.
