GoDaddy has announced that it is the new title sponsor for the former GMAC Bowl. The GoDaddy.com Bowl will feature a matchup between Mid-American and Sun Belt Conference teams.

The game takes place in Mobile, Ala., and will be broadcast live on ESPN on Jan. 6. Forty thousand fans are expected to attend the game at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

“We’re excited to have a powerhouse like Go Daddy behind Mobile’s biggest event of the year,” said GoDaddy.com Bowl President Jerry Silverstein. “GoDaddy stepped up big time for this sponsorship, which is good for all of us. Our bowl holds the record for the highest-scoring game in college football bowl game history. We are looking forward to another marquee matchup.”

GoDaddy has donated more than $2.7 million to charities this year, and that philanthropy will extend into next year’s game. About 3,000 Mobile-area children will get to watch the game for free from their own special section — the GoDaddy.com Bowl “Kids Zone.”
