Circa Central Avenue, a new multifamily project, developed just south of Phoenix Art Museum and adjacent to the Metro Valley light rail, is open, accepting new residents and is activating the central corridor. Hunt Companies, Inc., Tilton Development Company and Ryan Companies US, Inc. have completed the six-story project that includes four levels of residential apartments over two levels of parking, as well as five, two-story townhomes and two creative office suites.

“Circa Central Avenue is an upscale urban infill apartment living experience that combines unique design, comfort, convenience, top tier amenities and a Central Avenue address – all in the center of Downtown Phoenix,” said Daniel Tilton, owner of Tilton Development Company.

The design captures the energy of this site by incorporating popular amenities including a 24-hour fitness center, juice bar, two amenity decks and a cycle loft. The two separate amenity decks are elevated 20 feet above the street and include a pool, sports lounge, bocce ball court and outdoor cooking facilities overlooking Downtown Phoenix. The cycle loft features 93 hydraulic bike racks, a bike washing station, workbench, tools, storage lockers and a bike equipment vending machine. Studio Meng Strazzara of Seattle, Wash., was the architect of record and Reverie West Design was the interior designer.

“The project has an abundance of great amenities, but the neighborhood itself is the best feature,” said Tyler Wilson, vice president of real estate, Ryan Companies US, Inc. “Circa Central Avenue is walking distance to ASU’s Downtown Phoenix campus, close to several restaurants, a neighbor to the Burton Barr Library, and a few steps away from great hangout spots like Giant Coffee.”

“Our neighborhood is bustling with lots of activity and we are really excited to have a great project like Circa Central Avenue as a neighbor,” said Matt Pool, owner of Matt’s Big Breakfast and Giant Coffee. “We look forward to welcoming all the tenants to our community.”

The project team understands the impact that buildings have on a community and was committed to ensuring the project benefits were inclusive of the neighboring businesses. “It has been a huge priority to be a good neighbor and build great relationships with nearby businesses,” said Wilson. “In order to assist in the upkeep of the surrounding areas, we secured a temporary use agreement for 7,872 square feet of land directly next to the multi-family property and have put in desert landscaping to further beautify the area.”

“We are excited for residents to have access to the lifestyle we have created at Circa Central Avenue – it is an ideal location for people who want to be in the mix of activity,” said Terence Johnson, Hunt development manager. “We are pleased to have worked with our partners Tilton Development and Ryan Companies on this project.”
