Arizona native Heather J. Boysel, has become the first female managing partner of Gammage & Burnham, the Arizona law firm established in 1983 by Grady Gammage, Jr., Richard Burnham and Michael King.  She joins an elite circle of female managing partners at Arizona law firms and, at 37, is one of the youngest.

Heather graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University, earning both her Bachelors of Science in Engineering (B.S.E) (2004) and her J.D. (2007).  She began her career with Gammage & Burnham as a summer associate and has never looked back.  As managing partner, Heather will focus on supporting practice group leaders as they advance client service priorities and continuing to expand the talented group of lawyers that currently make up Gammage & Burnham.

Heather was elected as the firm’s managing partner and succeeds Tim Martens, who is retiring.  Tim served as the firm’s managing partner since 2015. His strategic initiatives involved restructuring the firm’s billing and performance matrixes, attaining the most efficient technology available, and streamlining practices and procedures. Gammage & Burnham is grateful for Tim’s dedication and contributions, which will have a lasting impact on the firm.

In addition to her new leadership responsibilities, Heather will maintain her own practice, which focuses on commercial litigation with an emphasis in the healthcare field as well as other commercial matters, including construction, real estate, and business disputes. With her wealth of experience and knowledge, and fresh perspective, Heather is well-positioned to navigate the firm into the future.

Heather notes, “I am looking forward to seeing Gammage & Burnham into the next generation.  This firm has given me so much and I’m honored to be charged with its future.”  When asked what makes Gammage & Burnham unique, Heather explains “We have an amazing culture.  I’ve never thought the grass is greener somewhere else.  Even when the practice of law is stressful and challenging, I have always felt fortunate to be working in this family of talented and team-oriented attorneys.”

Heather’s colleagues at Gammage & Burnham are excited to see what Heather will bring to the role as she transitions the firm to a new generation of leadership.
