The Run FORE Cancer invites avid and amateur athletes of all ages to spend a beautiful morning at Silverado Golf Club, walking or running the cart paths of the first nine holes (5K) or the entire course (8K)—Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017. The event is organized by the family of Kathy Maxwell, to honor her legacy and raise money to support Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, where she received care before losing her battle with sarcoma cancer in 2012.

Now celebrating its five-year anniversary, the Run FORE Cancer has raised nearly $200,000 for St. Joseph’s, where patients and families receive a full range of care for all forms of cancer, throughout all stages of the disease.

The Run FORE Cancer starts and finishes at the Silverado clubhouse, 7605 E. Indian Bend Road, beginning at 7:30 a.m. All participants receive a custom T-shirt, finisher’s medal and runner’s brunch. Awards are also presented to the top-three finishers in 16 age groups, beginning with the “under 8” category and wrapping up with “75 and over.”

For those who can’t participate on race day, event organizers offer the Run FORE Cancer Virtual Race, allowing participants to walk anywhere, anytime, at any pace, while supporting the great cause and earning the finisher’s medal and dri-fit T-shirt.
